Institutial Initiatives

Food Closet

The Lynn Closet moved from the Lynn Library to the Social Impact Lab in AY24-25. This food pantry is for food-insecure students and makes non-perishable foods available to any student in need throughout the academic year. Other items — like toiletries and menstrual supplies — are also available. The Food Closet is accessible to students from Monday – Friday from 9am to 5pm. Students can use the service anonymously and can take any items they need.

The website for the Lynn Food Closet also provides local resources for other food pantries or assistance.

Partnership with Sodexo food services

Lynn partners with Sodexo, a food services company, to ensure the university's community has access to nutritious food options. Sodexo's commitment to healthy eating, food allergy awareness, and health and wellness approaches provides a varied menu for the community that is well-balanced, focuses on transparency of ingredients, and encourages mindful choices.

By providing access to food to those who are food-insecure, and ensuring a nutritious menu for its community, Lynn University helps further target 2.1 of SDG 2, which focuses on ending hunger and ensuring access by all people to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food all year round.
